We’re excited to offer our Confirmation and Church Membership Class, a unique opportunity to both reaffirm your baptismal vows and officially join our church family. Whether you're new to the faith, new to Holy Cross or have been walking with Jesus for years, this class will help you grow in your understanding of Christianity and prepare you for both confirmation and becoming a member of Holy Cross.  

In this class, you'll dive into the core beliefs of the Christian faith, learn about the role of the Church, and explore how to live as a disciple of Jesus. You’ll also discover what it means to be a part of our church community, committed to worship, service, giving and fellowship together.

This class is designed to help you grow in your faith and prepare for two important steps: confirmation and church membership. You'll reaffirm your baptismal vows, learn about the core beliefs of Christianity, and explore the significance of being part of a local church community. It’s a chance to deepen your understanding of your faith and take an active step in joining our church family.

Yes, confirmation is closely tied to baptism. The class is an opportunity to publicly reaffirm the vows made at baptism, whether you were baptized as an infant or as an adult. If you haven't been baptized yet, you can learn more about taking that step here.

No. While confirmation is an important step it is not required for membership. The class is designed for both confirmation and church membership, so if you're already confirmed or decide not to be confirmed, you are still required to attend the course to become a member of Holy Cross. 

Yes, we ask that students be at least 13 years old to participate in the confirmation course. Student and adults are welcome!

The class will be 10 weeks long, with weekly sessions that cover key aspects of the Christian faith, the role of the Church, and the commitments involved in being a disciple of Jesus. The class is held on Sunday evenings from 5-6pm and is taught by the Rector. 

Yes, at the end of the class, there will be a confirmation service with the Bishop where you will publicly affirm your faith, receive prayers for the filling of the Holy Spirit, and officially be received into full membership in the church.

Yes. This course is required for all prospective members.
